At just 15 years of age, Rashmi Kaushik, a scholarship student, has achieved remarkable academic and creative milestones. Her poem, “वो मेरा गाँव” (that is my village ), recently featured in Amar Ujala, reflects her deep connection to her rural roots and her passion for Hindi poetry.
A Love for Mathematics and Languages
Rashmi’s academic journey began with her love for Mathematics, a subject in which she excelled during school. However, her heart also gravitated towards Hindi poetry and Sanskrit texts, leading her to score over 90% in her 10th-grade exams and secure admission to a renowned Sanskrit college.
Her fascination with Sanskrit stems from her love for grammar and its intricate principles. By the age of 15, Rashmi had completed an extensive study of Panini’s grammatical rules, delving into the scientific theories behind them—a feat few achieve at such a young age.
The Birth of “Woh Mera Gaon(वो मेरा गाँव)”
While Rashmi gained a strong foundation in grammar through her college professors, she initially struggled with writing. It was the evocative works of Nirala Ji, a celebrated poet, that inspired her. Drawing from her rural surroundings and Nirala Ji’s unique style, Rashmi penned “Woh Mera Gaon,” a heartfelt tribute to her village.
Mentorship and the Power of Scholarships
Rashmi credits much of her success to her mentor, Priyanka Ji, who provided invaluable guidance and motivation. “Priyanka Ji monitored my studies, prepared me for competitive exams, and helped me overcome financial challenges,” Rashmi shares. The mentorship Rashmi received not only enhanced her academic journey but also inspired her to aim higher.
The SBA Scholarship played a crucial role in transforming Rashmi’s dreams into reality. It alleviated financial constraints, enabling her to focus on her studies and set ambitious goals. Rashmi reflects, “This scholarship positively impacted my education and motivated me to strive for excellence.”
A Role Model in the Making
Rashmi Kaushik’s journey exemplifies the transformative power of education, mentorship, and perseverance. As a poet and scholar, she continues to inspire young minds to embrace their roots while pursuing academic excellence.
Her story serves as a beacon of hope for countless students, demonstrating that with the right support and determination, no dream is too distant to achieve.
